I bought this muffler with a Solburg filter for an Ingersoll Rand 80 gallon two stage compressor that I use every day in my shop. The factory recording of IR leaves a lot to be desired, to put it nicely! As soon as I opened Solburg I could immediately see the quality of this product, the finish is a nice durable thick powder coat finish, the hardware holding the two pieces together is a quality nut with a nylon washer so the nut or washer does not irritate . Housing color, the filter element itself is of the highest quality and American production. After quickly replacing the old muffler filter with a new great moment of truth. Hit the switch and I was truly amazed. First of all the sound dropped a nice amount, nothing mind blowing and not zero difference. But more importantly, it changed the harmonic frequency of the sound. Previously, the sound was super hoarse and harsh, with high notes. Now it's a much more tolerable low-frequency punch, making it manageable even around him. And of course I know it provides clean air to my device to protect the pump!
