This was necessary because my new frame bag swallowed my entire inner triangle. Really smart design and very easy to install (YouTube has a video on how to install it on an elliptical, I think it will help if you disagree). It's securely fastened, but the choice of bottle cage matters. This old-school cage (pictured) gradually collapsed during my ride as the weight of the bottle flexed it backwards (however, the bottle was never lost and was never flexed enough to interfere with the wheel). It turns out that the traditional corner in the triangular box prevents this. I'm trying out a new style (one of those racy "carbon fibers" (though not real carbon fibers) to see if it makes a difference. Update. UPDATE: Confirmed. (I opted for this lightweight Ibera Bicycle aluminum water bottle , black, decided .) There is nothing better!
