Review on Norpro Canning Essentials Boxed Piece by Patrick Burns

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good value for money! - Canned Food

I'm a serious preserver and really test these items. I have three of these sets. The Norpro lasts as well as my signature ball kit and is half the price. The can lift alone will cost you $5-6 at your local mass market. The magnetic lid lifter is one of those silly little things that saves you time and fingers when you're preheating lids like me, and is $3.99 at the same store IF they have them. The only item that is out of good shape after a few years is a plastic funnel which I seem to have just cracked regardless of who made it after a year or so. they don't break. they just crack and that's the beginning of the end. Buy a stainless steel can funnel and end this madness. The other item is one of my can lifters. After a few years, the soft vinyl covering is damaged. I've been told not to use dish soap on soft vinyl covered items. Obviously it spoils. So I'm not sure if "dishwasher safe" is accurate enough if you plan on using them for more than a few years. But for €7 including shipping you still get your money's worth.
