Review on ACDelco 19329330 Steering Shaft by Jared Bradford

Happy 04 Avalanche owner

I have an Avalanche 04 z71 with 97000 miles. I've had this rattling noise in the front end for 10 years when cornering at low speed which sounded like I had a busted shock absorber or something, other mechanics couldn't figure it out. I started searching the internet for the problems I was having, many people said the plastic bearing on the column was the cause but some said this shaft needed replacing so I ordered both, it was hard work to remove them from the lower steering shaft, but I managed! I also removed the original plastic bearing under the steering column but it looked ok, much stronger than the Chinese 12.00 green replacement bearing so I took a chance putting the original back in and putting everything back together. Well I was absolutely amazed at how much better my steering tightened and the noise I had had for years was gone. I wouldn't believe this stem would solve this problem but I'm glad I read some of the reviews and did a little research. thanks amazon A very happy customer. I sent this cheap steering column bearing back as the original looked good at first and easy to replace if needed in the future. I don't know if the Dorman brand is better or not, but it's the same green color as the cheaper Chinese one. It may have worked well, but it just didn't look like it was done well.
