For two years I've been trying to find a set of LED 9005 high beams that cost a penny. All had issues of one sort or another (some didn't support DRL functionality, although you might think these are basic things; some didn't emit light in a way that wasn't even remotely correct, some flickered no matter what seat belt or adapter or whatever resistor you used) and in the end I just broke down and bought them knowing I probably should have had them from the start. And the difference is real. Between them and the best of the 9005 range (brighter and whiter light than GE Nighthawk Platniums) and the best LED inserts you can get (they just work to start with. No fiddling with settings to try and get the spread to control) is madness. considering how similar the price is and how much better the performance is. Don't write them off because they don't have the blue tips that typically saw a slightly whiter light in 9005s (they're a lot whiter than the Nighthawks), and don't be afraid because you'll have to modify them to make them fit (and a pair of large toenail clippers, about 30 seconds of lightbulb was all it took to perfectly light them in my car).
