I use it to shut off the water supply to my coffee maker. I glued it to the outside of the tank at the fill line. It is in series with the float switch which sometimes gets stuck. The solenoid and this sensor operate on 12 VDC. However, the 4 pin connector doesn't connect to anything I could find. I cut the wires and substituted another connector so I can disable the sensor if I need to remove the reservoir. If the connector was a regular connector or if there was a mating connector with wires I would give this one 5 stars.
