Review on 🔌 Gardner Bender Electrical SK GSW Switch by Robert Xayamonty

There are a few things I considered when choosing a door switch. Those factors were overall dimensions, steel thickness (general quality), faceplate (appearance), and the switch itself. Now the faceplate on this model is beautiful, with a superb finish! The metal case is thinner than other switches I've bought for comparison, but overall the quality is good. I also liked that this model is narrower than the other models, which allowed me to install it without cutting out the stop. The only downside is 2 deep while I only have 1 1/2 inches of clearance behind the door frame. Now it's not an old house or anything, it's a newly built house from 2020, so everything is built to code. Last but not least, the switch itself is a bit flimsy. The connection cable is thinner and the button itself has more resistance and doesn't feel as smooth, so it's not my favorite switch. The good thing is you can buy another switch and replace this part but why bother when you can order something else. Overall I like this item but as the case is too deep I have to try to find a way to change it myself or find a suitable replacement. I'll post an update once I figure that out.
