Review on πŸ”Œ Woods 41496 Surge Protector: Overload Safety, 7 Outlets, 10 Ft Cord, 1440J Black Protection by Robert Arneson

There are many very good voltage regulators on the market today.

This is one of the others. Don't be fooled by the bogus limited warranty worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in the event of equipment failure. When you complete this obstacle course, you can consider yourself a medal winner when the manufacturer replaces the surge protector, not to mention valuable electronics that may have been damaged even after you complete the course. On the other hand, if I'm trying to save money and protect expensive electronics with an inexpensive security device, I probably deserve what I get. The thing is, none of these cheap home surge protectors are going to save your devices from a disaster like a lightning strike or a transformer exploding in a block and sending a surge through the neighborhood. It's not a big revelation because the very good ones won't either. However, I don't think the device needs too much to provide adequate protection from line noise and RFI. The manufacturer's website accurately lists the response time for this model, and the unspecified but discreetly displayed 400V clamping threshold voltage on the back of the strip exceeds what I would prefer for my entertainment center components. The manual, or more specifically the photocopy of the passport that came with the package, is practically useless even if you take the time to read the tiny print. is cumulative for any number of shocks it absorbs before reaching maximum power, but this model also lacks any audible warning that the MOVs are fried and it's going into power down mode. Not a big deal if your protector is sitting in the middle of a family room, but if it's a hidden dust bunny under a table you might think your devices are covered when in fact you only have a narrow strip. sockets. Either way, if your only worries are Keurig and a toaster on the kitchen counter, this could be for you. It has plenty of other flaws that might be of interest, and there's a good selection of reviews here that talk about the aesthetics. I will admit that one of the perks of buying this model was that it prompted me to check all my currently active protectors to realize that I probably need to change a few of them now so I figured I would Buying this when the time comes was suggested was a good idea as you never know when it might fail. I will order again and save a pair I bought previously. This is for Christmas lights.
