Pads worked well for Car Racks & Carriers
Pads worked great on our SUV. They slipped around the bar a bit, so make sure you tighten them well on the bar. I had to put the cross strap under the roof through the doors and not just through the roof rack because even at 20 km/h they banged the roof loudly. Not a big deal, but it took a few tries to get it right. The cushions were a good size for my 10ft kayak.
