We bought this for my daughter's science fair project and overall I was very happy with the results. A few notes for the average user: 1) The lens basically has to be on the subject in order to be able to focus it. It took us a while to figure out exactly how to get a sharp image, and I've used microscopes in the past (though not the kind that attaches to a phone case). 2) It is small and light weight, easy to put in your pocket for outdoor activities. (But remember #1, you can't drop this thing on, say, an insect without finding one that doesn't mind being practically obscured by the lens. 3) The magnification isn't great . enough to see microorganisms. We checked the magnification required before buying so we knew in advance but I don't think you can buy this to look at bacteria or anything like that. 4) For what you get, it's a pretty reasonable price. (The attached image is a bacterial culture grown in a Petri dish.)
