I got this a year ago for a project that never came to fruition and I didn't use it until last week. I built a pen and had to place my post ten feet from center and I figured my measuring wheel was just the ticket. I walked along the posts before returning to check where my panels would break. I kept having conflicting numbers, so I pulled out a tape measure to double-check. It turned out that with a span of ten feet, the measuring wheel was three and a half inches smaller than the tape measure. I tried different combinations to make sure it wasn't my fault and kept failing with the wheel. So I was forced to use my trusty tape measure to measure the exact distance, which took longer. Now I wasn't looking for an eight-inch mark, but a full three inches in ten feet is totally unacceptable for anything you're looking to measure with it, and not having checked it beforehand left me with an expensive wall mount. I may have a lemon, but test yours right away to make sure it doesn't happen to you. I am very disappointed that Bosch is releasing something like this.
