Lightweight, compact, durable measuring wheel

We have both metric and imperial versions of this measuring wheel. We use the inch wheel for rough measurements on our property. It is strong, light and very easy to transport when compressed. The only complaint might be that the wheel occasionally misses shorter readings when measured on dirt and grass. We use the metric version to measure distances between vehicles and it works well in the office. Good product.

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Good for $$ but I would have preferred Keson

Rolls well, works on a stand and definitely more durable than Lufkin but less than $$ than Keson. However, the scale should be much easier to read. The numbers are so small for my 52-year-old multicolored eyes that I have to bring the device much closer to my face to read them. Still, you have to look straight ahead to be readable. In hindsight, I should have spent the extra money and bought a Keson with a larger numeric gauge. I'd also like a remote reset next to the handle, but nobody seems…

Not good! I have been using measuring wheels for 30 years.

Bad! I've been using gauge wheels on a weekly basis for the past 30 years. The old Rolatape wheels were good products and lasted 2-3 years before the meter broke. This bike is a different story. The telescoping aluminum bar with cam locking arms is a very poor design. Very quickly, one of the lockers came loose so much that the wheel could no longer be held on the ground under any pressure. I had to seal the joint with tape, rendering the telescopic structure useless. It's also very bulky and…

Recommended - measuring wheels

A great solution for the price. I've used it to measure a variety of subjects from driveways to treetops. This is the best. Smooth to use and accurate to the nth degree, its performance is second to none. I ask him to do the work for me and he never fails me. It is made of very durable material, yet lightweight. It's also easy on the eye as it's an attractive device. Maybe I'm the only person who sees beauty in an instrument, but so be it. If you need to measure distances, especially long…

I love that the handle is retractable

I've been using this measuring wheel for my work almost every day since I bought it in January 2014. Rain, 20 degrees below zero and 100 degrees in summer. I was a little concerned that the reset button would break as others have reported, but it didn't. Sometimes you have to press it a few times to reset it, but that's not a problem. I love that the handle extends, easily tucks away in the back seat when not in use, and is the perfect length when fully extended. The large wheel makes it easy…

This is the one. useful for measuring and marking tools

I am a landscape designer. Inaccurate measurements can cost me or my customer. This is a very accurate instrument. What I was missing on my previous wheel. The impeller is very well made. I'm pretty sure the wheel itself is some sort of alloy. The telescoping handle is aluminum, well designed and a little longer than I expected with a comfortable grip. The wheel stops spinning once picked up, which is a bonus. I gained a foot on my previous bike through extensive measurements. It's impossible…

Doesn't measure accurately

I got this a year ago for a project that never came to fruition and I didn't use it until last week. I built a pen and had to place my post ten feet from center and I figured my measuring wheel was just the ticket. I walked along the posts before returning to check where my panels would break. I kept having conflicting numbers, so I pulled out a tape measure to double-check. It turned out that with a span of ten feet, the measuring wheel was three and a half inches smaller than the tape…

Works best with gauge wheels

After reading reviews of the delicate internal mechanism, the first step was to disassemble the TriFlow and spray generously. The assembly took a little longer than I expected. There are two plastic tips holding the axle. After that everything is fine. I used to use a 4 inch wheel to measure commercial roofs and for large buildings it was very accurate but too slow. This can take many hours, especially when applying putty (rocks). The larger wheel works much faster and is fairly accurate. It…
