made me dream of full sized double din

I don't have a Prius (thank goodness) but I have a full sized double din car stereo that gets very bad glare. I haven't driven a Prius on a clear, sunny day, so I don't know how bad that glare is, but I'm pretty sure mine is even worse. Thought it might be worth a try as I don't know where my CD case is anyway. You have two problems landing on a standard size 2 din stereo. Problem 1 - falling side panels. Instead of going straight down, they slope inward. Since my standard size 2-DIN stereo is rectangular, the width at the bottom (the distance between the side valves) should be equal to the width at the top (the distance from the same side valves). ) and it's not. I tried bending them and such, but the more I tried to make the bottom happy, the more the top moved away from the CD player, creating a gap that made it all pointless. Now I don't even know what problem 2 is, dammit. Anyway, I found an adequate solution. I tore off one of the side flaps. and stretched a piece of insulating tape over it. Now it can be used in the way I only dreamed of. In fact, I can read something on my screen at dusk and dawn and at night.

Pros

Cons
  • Requires outlet
