These watercolor pencils have good pigment saturation and are easy to color (which means I don't have to press hard to apply colour). Colors are bright and vibrant, although I've learned to look at the tips of the pens to determine the actual color, not the color advertised on the other end of the pen. They really work best by painting an image and then, if you wish, activating the color with water. You can easily smooth out pencil marks if you want your drawing to look like a painting. Sometimes I use a brush to remove paint from the tip of a pencil, but for some reason it doesn't work with these pencils. never mind My only complaint is that plastic trays are oddly difficult to lift from a metal can. The button notches aren't right or something.
