Review on TP LINK Wireless Router Switch Antennas by Wiktor Niekrasz ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product can be used, I expected a little more.

I have been using this TP-Link line for 3 years already and I am well acquainted with the 841N line. Unfortunately, the new version (revision) v2022 turned out to be problematic, the manufacturer switched to the new MediaTek processor for the first time instead of the well-deserved Atheros. Previously, all the shortcomings of tp-link'a were solved by an alternative firmware dd-wrt. because since version v2022 has a different processor installed, then there will be no DD-WRT support and is not even expected. The only option is the firmware from LEDE - but I'm not friends with it (IMHO). Everything would be fine, but the router very often (from 1 to 10 times a day) loses wifi connection. ADDITION: on channels 7 to 13 there are constant wifi disconnections, it is solved by using channels 1-6. I won’t say what it is connected with, after changing the channel from 11 to 3, the breaks and reboots disappeared, the connection is stable (I’ll immediately clarify for skeptics, this is not related to the “noise” on the air, “crooked” hands and anti-advertising). As a result, I DO NOT RECOMMEND not that the entire 841N series, but only specifically revision v2022 of the 841N router. (take any firmware of this equipment, except revision 13. You can find out the firmware version even before buying from the seller, either on the box or on the back of the router).

Pros
  • excellent model, any, except for the 13th version (the MediaTek processor was inserted into the new one)
Cons
  • excellent model, any, except for the 13th version (the MediaTek processor was inserted into the new one)
