Review on πŸ”’ WAVLINK Thunderbolt 3 SSD Enclosure - Portable External NVMe M.2 PCIe Enclosure for Single Sided Drives (Thunderbolt 3 Cable Included) by Jeff Long

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good speed as advertised, cheap case

Installed a 1TB WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD immediately upon receipt and used the included Thunderbolt 3 cable, the speed is pretty good, it almost reached the speed of an SSD (1901/2094MB /s when writing and reading instead of SSD speed 1950/2400 MB/s). When using a regular USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s cable, the speed dropped a bit, but still not bad, the write and read speeds are 1491/1658MB/ s. The case is very poor, made of cheap plastic, the top cover doesn't fit. properly seated, making it a bit difficult to install the outer screws. The metal heatsink features plastic spring rivets instead of screws, making it almost impossible to detach from the device once the rivets are in place. Therefore, it is better to use high-capacity SSDs to minimize changes in the future. The packaging is excellent, I liked the little screwdriver, not very useful but cute. The threaded Thunderbolt 3 cable is also great. Although I use a universal (DockCase) USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s cable because it's flat and flexible, it helps me fit the drive in the small back pocket ( ESR Slim mouse holder) of my Macbook Pro. on this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3K6JMPYZWNAXS/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07S1PCSV5 Overall happy with the arrangement.
