Review on Dorman 615-180 Engine Intake Manifold: A Perfect Fit for Select Models by Matthew Henderson

Very good part but some head. 2002 lesabre btw

I think I like it. The kit came very complete with injector seals and a new PCV valve etc. It's a good choice but I'll list the cons for you to weigh. final torque. Please note that I am currently blaming the torque wrench that I purchased specifically for this job, NOT the PART, so I am only listing this for your consideration when doing this job to be careful. The replacement cost me $104 with a 20% discount in a nearby town! 2nd: You will be prompted to replace the EGR tube that rises vertically from the lower manifold. Pulling it out is a little tricky but then you are told to GENTLY tap the thick end of the appropriate new hose (two different sizes supplied). Gentle my ass! I banged and banged metal on metal. If it was, it was always sideways. I used a piece of pine between the hammer and the pipe as a buffer to really hit it. I gave up and started throwing metal at metal all the while wondering what would I do if the pipe in that hole broke? I also heated the hole with a torch. Heat MAY help, but I destroyed the board. By the way, they want you to use red Loctite on this part. But it was done. 3rd: The instructions are rather weak and poorly written on paper. I suggest you watch ALL the different tutorial videos on You Tube. Everyone has something to contribute. They say to replace the vent tube on the back of the part. They supply a new vent, but the small tube that comes out the top of this part is blocked on my machine. The new one had no cap and the old cap was hard plastic and broke when I tried to remove it. The explicit seal for this vent is a loose fit. I don't know if it's important or not. So it's a lot, but actually I think it's a very complete kit and a good deal.
