Not 400lbs, but it works.
I have the magnet used as a door handle on my fridge. To give you an idea of the magnet strength, sometimes the magnet will pop off of the door, rather than open it. Yeah, nowhere close to 400lbs, more like 40ish I'd wager.
Pros
- Can be used to retrieve objects that are stuck in water bodies such as wrecks or sunken objects
Cons
- The magnet may not be effective in areas with heavy underwater plant life
