Ok nothing better, bad design
Standard 6x6 size is 5.5 inches. When using this support, the flat parts will move inward, leaving a small hole at the bottom. I only recommend this if you have wood to tree as Simpson only has wood to concrete and it's a miserable jump in tree to tree. FOR WOOD TO WOOD IT IS GOOD.
