I found the TRENDnet AC3000 extremely unreliable. It has to be turned off manually every few days. Every few days it would get into a state where a new device (or an expired device) would fail to connect, the web-based management interface was unavailable, and the only way to recover was to manually power cycle the TRENDnet AC3000 turn on again. It got to the point where I set TRENDnet's AC3000 to restart twice a week, and yet there were times when I had to turn the unit on and off manually. The documentation states that you can configure eight different SSIDs with the TRENDnet AC3000. The web management interface does not allow you to actually configure "eight SSIDs", so this feature cannot be used. I couldn't get "Guess the SSID" to work either; Although the web-based management interface says I've successfully set up "Guess the SSID", I have never been able to get a device to actually connect to "Guess the SSID". Therefore, as far as I know, the "Guess SSID" function does not work. After purchasing another router, I tried to see if I could salvage TRENDnet's AC3000 by configuring it to act as a basic Wi-Fi hotspot. - that too is impossible. To be fair, the TRENDnet AC3000 literature never says that this feature simply acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot. However, another disappointment is that I can't use it as a WiFi hotspot, although I've decided not to use it as a "router". The WAN failover feature works (I think) but the overall implementation leaves a lot to be desired and unreliability is the biggest issue.
