I have a very old laptop with only a 9-pin DB serial connector for a mouse. I bought a PS/2 mouse and these connectors. The mouse works perfectly on another system. My serial port works with a modem. I plug in the working mouse into this adapter into a working serial port, the laser won't even light up. I'm glad it came as a 2-pack, so I know the design doesn't work (or I just got a fluke and 2 bad ones). Either way, not impressed at all.I went so far as to test each pin individually. Only 2 of the PS/2 pins actually pass to the other side of the adapter.
