A Drywaller's Best Friend

This was easily one of the best home improvement purchases I've made in the last year. I had a lot of drywall repairs in my new apartment and most of them were pretty small patches. I thought rather naively that a little sandpaper and elbow grease was all it took to take care of her. Using a hand sander for the first time is life changing and this one is very well done. Being able to get a smooth finish over a large area or even a small area by applying even pressure helps a lot. Allway grip is soft enough not to tire your hand. And it accepts standard size sandpaper or pieces of sanding screen. I've found this to be a particularly effective option with sanding screens, even for sanding layers made with heavy putty that doesn't sand easily. Some have complained that the clamps are too tight, but I found them to be perfect. They hold the paper or screen firmly in place. Unless you're looking for a hand sander with a drywall vacuum attachment (which is a pretty good idea if you do a lot of dirty work), this is definitely a hand sander. To you.
