I couldn't connect it to my Alexa.

My first remote control was easy to connect to my Alexa Echo. Stopped working after a few years. I changed the batteries but it still didn't work so I ordered a new remote control and believe it or not it doesn't work either. I have no idea what the problem is. So here it doesn't work with two Echo remotes. If this is something with my Echo I don't know what it could be because it does everything I ask of it. So I can't say I'm happy with my remote controls.
