If you have a small dog under ten pounds this is a good lightweight leash that is easy to clean. BUT, when your dog chews on the leash, it doesn't last long and can be fatal. My dog chewed on both sides in about 2-3 months of use. When she first did it, the sharp, frayed wires were exposed under the plastic and very dangerous. They got stuck in her fur and cut into her skin. I needed wire cutters to cut the leash and then had to try to restrain my squirming dog and use a combination of scissors and clippers to shave off her hair and take the leash off after about 45 minutes. Luckily the wires didn't get stuck in her skin and I was able to pull her out, but it ruined my Cavachon coat, a mid-length double coat that hadn't yet grown just below her belly. I should have learned my lesson but I switched the end of the leash thinking I'd better keep an eye on her now that I know and she did well but we let her out unattended once and she did it again, this time baring the wires. chewed and got stuck in her fur again and then ended up slicing her gums as she tried to chew it off her fur as she was in pain. Luckily we caught her before it was too late. DO NOT buy this if your dog has the potential to chew. We're lucky it wasn't a visit to the vet. And for comparison, my dog weighed about 3-5 pounds with baby teeth on the first chew and maybe 5-8 pounds the second time. She's under 20 feet tall and has small teeth, so be mindful of your pets' safety and invest in something safer. This is not a durable leash for chew dogs so I'm switching to cloth or nylon. I only recommend this if your dog is under your supervision on the leash at all times as any dog can chew when bored or left alone. It's not worth going to the vet to hurt your fur baby or going to the barber to shave your fur baby, especially if you have a double-coated dog to risk ruining his coat because of the damage, that it can cause.
