Review on Get 3ct. S-Shape Airlock with #6 Stopper Set of 3 (Bubble Airlock) – Enhanced Brewing Experience by Dan Deng

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Corks can have holes of different sizes, make sure the lock fits, otherwise the bottle may break!

I've seen several reviews saying they received broken gateways but don't let that stop you: I received a broken gateway in my package, I emailed the seller and got a very quick reply saying a new one was on the way plus extra goodies in the bag! I received a replacement 2 days later that was shipped to Hawaii. When I first started using them: The first airlock went into my clear half-gallon bottle (first the cork, then the airlock) and it went in perfectly; The next went for my dark half gallon bottle, but this time I put an airlock in the cork first and pushed the whole thing in (obviously it didn't go all the way in, but it's enough for a good seal). They've been banned for a week with no problems. [FYI, there are no instructions on how to use locks, so if you don't know how to use them you should look them up] Unfortunately, today I broke my neck putting the lock in my gallon bottle. The plug went in fine, but it looks like the hole in this plug wasn't big enough for the sheath (I haven't had this problem with other plugs) and when I tried to insert the sheath it broke. the neck of my new bottle! You can see I tried to push the cork over the crack just enough after it broke that I could close it because I don't have another large bottle, but once that gallon finishes fermenting I'll have to replace the bottle and see if its there is something i can do to poke a bigger hole in the cork. 😕TLDR: Make sure the airlocks fit your corks before inserting them and be extra careful with the necks of your bottles.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
