Review on 🔧 Enhanced Oil Filter Cap Wrench - 64mm x 14 Flute by CTA Tools 2485 by Art Porras

I needed a filter wrench for my 2001 Volvo V70XC and couldn't find one at my local auto parts stores. Not knowing what to expect I took a chance as most of the reviews were 5 stars and the price was exceptional. When I received it I was very happy with the construction and finish. I have a brand new oil filter housing for my Volvo (because the current one on my car was chewed up with pliers or something by the previous owner) and it fits perfectly! I've been a mechanic (aerospace and automotive) all my life and worked as a technician at a car dealership for a few years and I can tell you the tool looks like it was made for heavy use. The stamped steel body is thicker than those available at local auto parts stores and the drive adapter has a thick weld along the inside of the tool. So it seems capable of handling quite a bit of torque. Although the product description says it's 1/2", the adapter is actually designed to connect directly to a 3/8" drive. Perhaps this error is because they offer a much larger wrench (118-131mm) and this is a more accurate description of their other offerings. The 3/8" drive adapter works great and the 21mm socket fits the external hex well. However, SAE sizing is a mixed bag. I was able to fit a 13/16" 12 point box wrench but not open the opposite. A similarly sized 13/16" hex head was very tight so I wouldn't recommend that size and would just go with 21mm if You would need to use an external hex. Otherwise just use a 3/8" drive. Adapter to make using this tool easier. The adapter also includes ball locks on all four sides of the 3/8" internal drive to allow the ratchet or extension will not fall off during use.Since this tool is designed to remove and install the oil filter, I am sure it will be shipped Also, it was promised that I will post an update after my next oil change, and I will have the opportunity to to use it and install the new filter housing that I have.
