I read many reviews before buying this bag and I want to share my findings so that it may be useful to others. I had three issues that I took into account when purchasing. I wanted to save all the yarn for a big project and keep the yarn separate from the project, I wanted it to contain my project and I wanted to be able to take it with me on trips where I would be spending time in the car. My project came out in two circles (I bought too much yarn for one project). I will be giving them to a married couple, I know so the same yarn will work for both throws. Cream colored quilts with 3 different color stripes in different places. My first concern was the width of the yarn slots. They hold wider skeins of yarn, especially since I've been using them. I have 3 colors and 6 stripe cakes and I could probably slip 3 more into these slots for a large quilt. BUT it closed some other slots. And it's good that the yarn is soft, otherwise I couldn't insert it into the grooves. My second concern was that she would keep my project running. I am currently about 1/3 of the first roll and there is plenty of room in it. I don't know if a double size blanket will fit inside and certainly no more. However, if you're just using it to store yarn for a big project, it will surely hold it all. My third problem was portability. I don't go anywhere without a project, and I'm tired of hats and rags. I wanted something that would be easy to carry and fit on the passenger seat or on the floor of the car. I took it with me yesterday as I was expecting a bit of a wait, the bag takes up ALL the floor on the passenger side of the car. I don't like my feet squeezing in the car, and I put things like sewing under my feet to give the car leg room. I won't be able to hold it to my feet as a passenger, I'll have to try and find a way around it, if not I'll go back to the canvas bag. I don't usually buy gadgets for no reason, like the shin yarn I buy at the yarn store. I don't like wasting time on balloons so this is helpful. The features of this bag are my first encounter with many gadgets that I have seen in stores. First off, it's a magic tab, silly as it sounds, and as much as I love velcro, I've found that I really like these little things. When I change yarn I don't have to look for the end of the skein, it's right there. He also did not separate or pull the yarn by whipping it. Second, these are slots for yarn. I would have liked less wide slits. Even if I had normal balls of yarn, I could still only put one in the slot, and in this way I get two or three skeins per slot. The third is the lid. I know it sounds weird, but I usually use a canvas bag or large cosmetic bag for my projects, and yarn pulling can be an issue. The transparent lid let me see my yarn which gives me a good feeling (usually, why do we have a stash huh?) The grommets made it easy to pull the yarn out, and pulling out the first yarn from the middle, the usually sloppy mishmash, can you just about grab the top of the side of the project to pull out the mess until it's used up. Also, the split top allows me to pause my work at any time and tidy up my project where it won't be easily damaged. As such, the top lid is my absolute favorite feature of this bag. I don't feel the need to take all my tools with me when I'm working on a project, so bags dedicated to specific things, while nice, are useless to me. It would be nice to have pockets so I can throw a bag of markers, counters, scissors, etc. I like the large back pocket for patterns or magazines. It also holds my tablet which is a plus when I leave the house. Although I might have to come up with something else for the trip. It's sad but it works when I watch TV with my husband at night. Hope that helps. I see I'm not the only one who received a low quality product. You may want to look at another brand,
