This microplane has many great features: solid construction, strong grip, small brush, protective cover, nice looks…. EXCEPT, it doesn't do what it was designed to do! I took it to work and tried to peel a lime and it just rubbed the surface of the tines without peeling off the green skin. I had to squeeze a lime on it and rub it VERY HARD on the surface to get a few morsels of spice. That's NOT how they're supposed to work. The teeth were almost horizontal, meaning they wouldn't hook anything. I ran my fingers firmly over the surface and there was no harshness. it's back I don't know if I received a defective micro plane but I ended up buying a more expensive one that worked great.
