Bought this for my husband for Christmas and we are very disappointed. Why does Garmin think it's a good idea to require a smartphone to receive traffic information? I could also use google maps if I have to use my smartphone! The cable to receive traffic information (without using the phone) costs up to $60! My old Garmin gets traffic with no other apps and I don't think this 'new and improved' device is a step up. Update: We bought a traffic cable but it didn't work. We eventually found out that the Garmin we bought came in a nΓΌvi 3590LMT-S package which said the compatible traffic cable was a GMT 60. HOWEVER, the unit in the 3590 box was a Drive 51 (that's the model I bought). . One wonders how the device ended up in the wrong box - and if anyone else got it mixed up. See attached photos. Now we have to pay the shipping to send the cable back and buy a new one. What a problem!
