Review on AccusizeTools Indexable Carbide Turning Tool 2387 2003 by Ron Patel

Good quality tools for the price. The tool shanks are strong, the slots are large and the carbide fits perfectly. I am very satisfied with all Accusize tools that I have received. The quality is excellent, the carbide is good, and the overall fit and finish is excellent. However, I've had good luck with carbide and all the turning and face tools, but I broke the parting/grooving tool on my second use. I was dipping about 2 inches of 6061 at medium pressure when the bottom of the tool holding the carbide insert broke off. The machine didn't blink and it took me a minute to figure out what the noise was because I didn't think whatever it was the tool was broken. I didn't even use much force. I mean we're talking about 6061. Bye bye I guess I'll stick with hard HSS or thick HSS with soldered tip. You must have a totally rigid separator setup and I thought the chip started chattering and vibrating, came loose quickly and caused an outage. Price and overall product - getting your tools in boxes versus a dull plastic case - very nice touch and fantastic for storage when you collect a lot of tools. I wonder if the grooving/cutting off tool was an accident? operator error? I mean, saying goodbye isn't my favorite thing to do, but I think I'll attribute this hiatus to operator error. I'm going to buy a 1/2" set and see what happens. All the other tools were great in comparison. I don't like that you only get one piece of carbide for each, but you do get a couple of tips for each Chip that helps I would buy them again that's for sure.
