My 2012 Jeep Patriot tailgate has stopped working and I needed a cheap solution to restore the tailgate function. Many other parts I could find locally cost over $95 which is very expensive. This tailgate actuator fits well and does the job for a third of the cost! Don't waste your money on more expensive parts. Installation was easy and took about 30 minutes. To access the actuator, all you have to do is remove the plastic panel. Once removed, you can easily access the drive and unscrew the two screws/cables to swap out parts.
