What a pain in the ass using a magnesium gun. I ran for a few extra bucks and bought a Tesla Lighter 2.0 Plasma Lighter. In terms of weight, it is similar to the striker, so the extra weight of the backpack was not a problem. Because you're not using liquid fuel, you never have to worry about running out of fuel or wasting it. This thing charges via USB and each charge lasts for 300 10 second lights. It is waterproof and windproof. Lighting a flame in the wind is a big problem. Don't worry about that. The plasma arc does not go out. This is a key feature - I have reviewed several plasma lighters where the plasma arc was difficult to access due to the electrodes not being on top. Electrodes attached to the top made ignition much easier. Do not install one without a top bracket. Even if it is much more expensive than lighters or strikers, it is worth the money and reliable.
