I bought this welder because my job (solar street light installation) requires a lot of welding. I also wanted something small and light that I can always take with me in the car. The first job I did with this welder was making 2 inch iron tubing to turn into street light poles. I did 10 bars and burned over 20 bars without stopping. The car did not overheat and showed no signs of a struggle. But for best results I had to set it to maximum on the 168A dial. In my experience I expect many hours of good work from this little machine. The warranty is 2 years, which is a lot for a $100 welder. EDIT: After another 4 months and tons of welds the little monster is still working great! I have to say that first impressions of this machine are of a toy product, but wait 'til you start burning the bars! After a short time you start to respect this little car. In my experience a quality product at a very good price. I used it to build a 14 foot steel water tower and for 2 days I burned the bars from dawn to dusk. I never noticed fatigue or signs of overheating. This is a GREAT PURCHASE! I recommend it. Attached are some photos of the work that the little welder did in 2 days.
