I ordered these replacement key fobs knowing that for our car of the year they would need to be sent to the dealer for programming. However, I knew that the internal circuit board of our old one was good, it was just the case and mechanical components that wore out after almost 10 years of use. I just moved the old circuit board to the new case and internal contacts and both fobs work like new. There is no need to cut a new blank as the old blank fits the new key fob.
