I've been using the steps for 10 months now. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they stay in place. The vacuum pulls the edges up from time to time, but doesn't slip. We have two dogs and if you look at the close up photo I can't get the dog hair off the caterpillars no matter what I do - vacuuming, with a vacuum cleaner attachment by hand, with a lint roller... You may be able to see that the ends are cleaner were as the middle. This is because the center wears out and the dog hair gets stuck in the shredded fibers where the caterpillars have more use. Better than I thought, but not as good as expected for the price. These won't last long.
