Review on ๐Ÿท๏ธ Loloi II Teagan TEA-04 Sky Traditional Runner Rug - 2 ft 8 in x 4 ft by Michelle Lyons

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Even after more than 6 months, an evenness of the edges cannot be achieved.

I loved the look of this rug when it arrived and I still love it. The colors and pattern are gorgeous, the texture adds depth and interest. This will be a FIVE STAR rating. if not for a few issues which sadly ruined our experience with it. This makes me even sadder because there are several loloi rugs that I wanted to buy for different rooms in our house. Her style is always top notch. And this rug was basically my test run before I delved further into it. In any case. I'll start with the first, smaller (but still frustrating) issue: the edge tends to unravel a bit in the corners and a few other places where (I think) the famous fiber started to unravel. That would have been a bigger problem except that I caught it early every time and dealt with it by reattaching the loose ends with a dab of superglue. This fix isn't perfect because it makes things stiff and can even make the ends sharp underfoot if they start to unravel and stick out again. But it's better than having the entire edge of my carpet unravel over time. So it succeeded. No problem. The bigger disappointment and more serious issue for me is the following issue: The two long edges of this rug absolutely refuse to lay flat. No way, no way. I've tried every trick in the book and even added my own extra chapter. We tried weighing the rims for several days by rolling the rims and leaving them there for a while, rolling AND weighing. We tried the high quality and durable carpet tape - it stuck very well to the floor and even to the carpet first. but within a day or two the carpet was torn away from the tape again, exposing many remaining carpet fibers still attached to the tape. We've used this method several times, changing the tape each time, so I'm sure the edges of our rug have also become sparser thanks to this failed attempt. In desperation, I even ordered handles for the corners of the rug, knowing before trying this that this wouldn't solve the problem of the total border area between the corners. TO FAIL. My last attempt at repair was my own idea and came closest to success. I ordered a couple of these 3M Velcro. I knew they would be secure on our hard floors as they come loose easily if you stretch the glue tab. So I attached velcro to each foot or so on both long edges of the rug. One side of each velcro is attached to the floor very well and the other side is attached to the bottom of the mat. Success! The edges pressed to the ground and felt more secure than any other attempt to date. And BONUS: I could even spread the velcro to lift the edges to suck underneath, then use a nice velcro to push them back in when reattaching. I was so happy that I didn't mind when a few days later the upper parts of the Velcro came loose from the underside of the rug, as did the rug strap (also covered in rug fibers). Because at that moment, after a few months, as the rug "relaxed" (which, of course, conveniently got me well past the return window), I knew it would never fall to the floor on its own - that was my only hope . . And I just knew that a tiny adjustment would make this short-lived success more lasting. So without further ado, I super-taped these velcro straps (to put it more bluntly, for those of you skimming: I did NOT glue the sides of the velcro that attached to the bottom. They glued perfectly; the sides are a problem. was at the edge of the carpet). I glued these things directly to the wrong side of the carpet edges, confident that my war with those stubborn edges was finally over. That my beautiful rug will finally stop tripping, clinging to the vacuum cleaner and just driving me crazy. I was wrong. The combination of 3M velcro and superglue lasted for a great couple of months. in front of the mass of carpet fibers superglue was also glued to the carpet. The edges are up again. Her determination won out and I was defeated. And incredibly disappointed. I had such high expectations for this rug. It's really beautiful. But the carpet must lie flat. Aside from looking awful, lifting entire edges is a safety hazard. I hope what I have is the exception - it's just kind of broken. I would like to get a replacement to see for myself. If I had just gotten a lemon, then this rug was totally worth it. But if it's not there, and you decide to take a risk and order. I wish you success. I hope you do better than me in the upcoming battle. A NOTICE. We have no pets and we are not strict with our carpets.
