Review on πŸ₯ž Flexible Pancake Turner with OXO Good Grips Silicone for Easy Flipping by Christopher Todd

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just what I wanted for kitchenware and gadgets

UPDATE: I turned away for a moment while cooking today and the nylon handle on the OXO spatula melted where it was touching the rim of the hot pan. It is disfigured, but the spatula's function is unaffected. But if you have this spatula, do not leave it in a hot pan as the handle may melt. REVIEW: I bought this kitchen tool for one purpose only. Every morning I make a fluffy 2 inch thick omelet in a 10 inch pan with a 7 inch flat bottom. The 2.5 inch nylon spatula I used was too narrow to flip the eggs without breaking the omelet in half. And even though I keep the temperature low, the edge of the old nylon spatula melted and wrinkled - the plastic didn't chip off (yet), but the deformed edge picked up roughness and made it difficult to slide the tool under the eggs. In comparison, I can slip an OXO Good Grips Flexible Silicone Spatula under my omelette with little persuasion without anything sticking to the spatula. Most importantly, the sturdy wide spatula is able to lift, hold and flip my 3 egg omelettes without breaking them in half. This is what I needed and I use it every morning. I've had no issues with a short handle, dull edge, or metal melting from silicone. The blade is easy to clean under running water. I found the price very reasonable. I can't vouch for the pancake flipping performance, but since a thick, unwrapped omelette looks like a giant pancake, I suspect it will do. This rating is based on one week of daily use.
