My beautiful Friesian sport horse has developed grapes, an autoimmune disease that most commonly affects draft horses. This condition results in the formation of marble-sized nodules around the posterior pastern that must be carefully managed. The condition worsens due to exposure to sun, mud/sand and humidity, which is a problem 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Serenade had a bad bout when I had the flu for almost 3 weeks and lost the ball. The vet performed a nerve block, tourniquet, and injected antibiotics and steroids into the affected area of the ankle. The condition improved significantly in a few days, but the treatment was a nightmare. I used a whole roll of veterinary towels and pads every day. I searched and searched for some type of boot that could protect them from the mud and sun and that was easy to put on. These boots are AMAZING. They are soft and soft inside, easy to wash, perfect fit, do not rub, the velcro is double so that the flap closes on top of the velcro and bottom and stays clean. Very well done. I bought two more pairs this morning. They are the ideal solution for ulcers / ankle problems. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
