It works out! It's worth it!
Woman broke off a brass key directly on the key fob. I had to use pliers to start the car and keep the key fob close. Bought it, paid $65 to have a key laser cut at a specialty shop, traded the innards for a circuit board. Picked up and drove off. No need to pay $100-200 for programming or anything else.
