Review on Prepac Freestanding Full/Queen Bookcase Headboard, 65.75"W X 11"H, Black by Kevin Apriando

Assembly Instructions are awful

The headboard itself is a good value; sturdy, etc., with only one small nick easily fixed with black nail polish. However, assembling it together was a real PITA because of the terrible instructions.1. They are not online, so you can't study them in advance.2. They are not in color, so the difference between finished and unfinished surfaces is not always clear.3. There should be an online video for assembly instructions, not the two useless ones that exist now.Even with three of us (all over 80, granted) we still got one of the parts upside down, and fixing it would require disassembling the whole thing again. Ok, we weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer, but still.(It is impossible to make anything foolproof, the fools are too clever). Even with that, color photos or a video would have helped enormously. Some of the parts were missing (one plastic screw, a couple of the finishing nails); Prepak was ok about shipping the missing parts, but the unit was (more or less) assembled, so I didn't bother with it, because it would have taken two days to get them.

Pros
  • This headboard is made from high-quality materials, so you can expect it to last for years to come
Cons
  • May require additional hardware for installation
