PanPastel 30203 Ultra Soft Artist Pastel 20 Color Set Review - Be Careful

When I bought these pastels they didn't tell me they weren't "soft". It's actually loose powder. I was expecting them to be more like soft pastels but they are more like talc in consistency. This makes the powder extra necessary to contain it. That's just the first problem. They also don't tell you that they come without cases. They stack on top of each other. Only the top pan has its own lid. The rest of each stack (I think I remember each stack can have 5 trays) screws into the bottom of the other so you can't just open one at a time. If you want to access pastels, loose powder bowls must be fully open and spread out. This is a disaster that is about to happen. I bought small cheap replacement plastic caps. This added $1 to each pan for lids, which cost maybe twelve cents each, so plan your "investment" a lot higher than you imagined. If they were willing to talk about what you're getting into, I wouldn't buy them. If you're thinking of buying them "just to try," like I did, don't worry unless you're willing to face negative issues. At least now you know what you're getting yourself into. If they were actually "soft" instead of powdery, and if each pot had its own cheap plastic lid, things would be very different. Anyway, they spill very easily and you have to buy expensive cheap plastic replacement lids. (Buy a few more caps than you intend to use as not all of my winnings are intact.)
