The main reason I bought it was because unlike modern Pyrex it's made from borosilicate glass and its shape is more castable than some of the competition. Despite claims that the dishwasher unfortunately didn't affect the readability of the dimensions, after several rinses in the dishwasher, they can hardly be distinguished. Pretty disappointed with this product as it now requires over-focusing to use accurately.
