I use this stake for my 45 lb dog. She is small but strong for her size. Another review mentions the leash getting stuck in the triangle, possibly because the peg was screwed too deep into the ground. If there is still enough of it sticking out of the ground, the line should never be pulled high enough to coil the triangular handle, just spin under it. When screwing into the ground, the last few turns can be a bit heavy on the hands. If you have a broomstick or piece of pipe lying around, it's easier to use it as leverage when turning.
