My house has rounded corners and this device has helped me a lot. It's really just a piece of plastic and I'm sure you could easily make a template similar to this, but I felt the price and time savings quickly paid for itself. I made some rounded corners before buying and they didn't work either. I haven't had any of the notching problems that some others have reported, but I've always measured from the marks I made with this tool and then accounted for the cut of the blade and I've had no problems.
