We wanted to leave them at home or be able to take them for a walk, so we have a downtime timer. I didn't time each of the arrivals to see if exactly two minutes had passed or not, but I think they're close enough for our needs. More importantly, our son knows he has to take time out until the timer sand runs out, so he understands exactly how long he's been on time out. In fact, he likes to play with them at other times, even though he knows they are punctual. So far none of them have broken or spilled sand and we have been using them for almost a year. I definitely recommend these for kids getaways if that's what you're looking for.
