Review on Keyboard Logitech MX Keys black, English by Stanislaw Koluch ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

After using the Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard for 11 years (which is still functioning well), there was a recurring desire to explore "what's new on the market?" As a consequence of this, it was necessary to structure the workplace around the MacBook Pro. Although everything works flawlessly on Windows, the previous keyboard's F-keys did not work in MacOS, which is an operating system that I frequently need to work with. However, everything works perfectly on Windows. Yes, and it's a fairly aggravating nuisance to have to repeatedly jab the wire between a stationary PC and a USB hub twice a day. As a result, it was determined to search for a universal wireless solution, which ultimately led to the discovery of this keyboard. After devoting a significant amount of time to reading the customer reviews, I realized that this product offers a middle ground answer. On the other hand, there was no longer any urge to lean over a laptop, so they took MX Keys instead. Docking with a stationary PC on Windows with the Unify adapter does not result in any issues because the relevant software is automatically installed. Because it didn't function out of the box as indicated in the instructions, you had to hold down the search button in addition to turning on the device in order to successfully connect through Bluetooth to MacOS. This makes the process more complicated than it should be. In addition, I brought an MX Anywhere 3 mouse with me, and that mouse works on the same Unify adapter as a keyboard (albeit it can become unresponsive at times, but the keyboard works without a hitch). Both devices are able to function normally when communicating with one another over Bluetooth. According to the comments, switching between mouse and keyboard devices "by one button" works properly only with the MX Master 3 mouse. With my mouse, you need to switch between mouse and keyboard devices individually, but it is not a difficult process. Because I don't use the backlight, it took roughly a third of the battery charge to get through a month of work without it. It's not great for gaming (especially when compared to a gaming keyboard), and it's more of a tool for work. However, the recesses make the space more comfortable. A purchase that is recommended in general. It would be absolutely ideal if we could still use the ANSI version of the software.

Pros
  • There are no wires. It's easy to become used to. You are free to take the keyboard away from the table at any moment and clean it whenever you like. To switch between several devices, there is no longer a need to poke the wire. These buttons are quite convenient. - Very hefty, does not crawl on the table; - Lovely Esc, you can even press with two fingers; - The dimples really make it a pleasure to use with, and the touch-typing key location is great. All because of how large it is; - This keyboard is far more useable in MacOS than the one that came with the operating system due to the great concept of moving the Fn key further away. The process of changing the language has been significantly easier to comprehend and quicker; - a stylish design that is straightforward and has a neat appearance. Does not attract dust like keyboards with a pure black finish, particularly those with shiny accents; - Simple preparation. On a stationary PC running Windows 10, after inserting the key fob, it offered installing specialized software; however, on a MacOS device, it started up immediately after connecting and did not require any applications to do so. Everything works perfectly, and moving between devices as well as waking up from sleep mode is lightning fast. The keyboard cannot be shut off at the end of the work day; rather, it will immediately wake up on its own (when your hands are raised or when you press the keys); - A stable connection. The keyboard is a half meter away from the router, and it operates using Bluetooth—an outstanding feature on the key fob. - The router is simple to clean. The absence of shiny details is also beneficial.
Cons
  • - There is a very minor bending of the body in the vicinity of the opening. Even the rubber foot placed in the middle of the surface from below does not provide any assistance. This is not to suggest that the entire surface as a whole is slightly convex toward the top. The distance between them is roughly one millimeter. It is not a serious issue and is only felt when you press on the case itself, but it is surprising that it hindered you from getting a snug fit to the table; - It is conceivable that a palm rest might be included in the package (or at the very least, that customers could be given the option to purchase one in 2022); - The distance between the number row and the F-keys on the keyboard is unaltered in any way. Backspace is my go-to button for quickly increasing the volume. If the keyboard were one centimeter bigger, there would be additional space between the F keys; nevertheless, I really doubt that anyone would find this to be an issue in any way. The left Shift key and the Enter key are both as repulsive as the Esc key is attractive. This is an ISO layout with a tilde or brackets added at this spot, even though it's not really necessary. It's possible that this is a nod to the compatibility with MacOS, but even if it were, I wouldn't mind having this button right next to Fn. That's because the number of times I accidentally hit the wrong button instead of Shift is orders of magnitude greater than the number of times I accidentally press the tilde. Those who have spent years typing on ANSI keyboards will be able to sympathize with you regarding this discomfort. Even 11 years ago, I recall these problems in the Illuminated Keyboard, and things are still there; - Those who are accustomed to Home / End in Windows, then you should be aware that they do not operate in MacOS in all programs. This is something that you should be aware of. For example, you need to use the conventional Cmd + arrow combination in TextEdit; - After restarting MacOS, the password needs to be typed from the laptop keyboard; it does not function with this one. It is not entirely obvious what should be done in the case of owners of Mac Mini computers who intend to buy this keyboard to replace the default one. Bluetooth was used for the check.
