I bought a machine and used it for 3 days before it stopped running smoothly. We use a variety of beans at home, but I usually buy a medium-dark roast from Whole Food. I contacted their support team and after going back and following a few steps to determine the source of the problem, I was told that "all Gagia machines cannot handle oily or darker roast coffee. Also, determining that oily or dark roast coffee is a problem with the machine can void the warranty.” I spent $1,000 on a car and didn't expect to be hit by such a limit, which after only a few days led to problems. I liked the taste and ease of use and wish it could handle all types of beans. Definitely do this if you're using a light roast or you'll run into trouble, according to their support. By the way, they should mention it in the product description or in a prominent place. I was very disappointed when I found out about this limit after purchasing it.
