I received this vest with a pair of 1.5mm shorts for use in Florida during the winter months. Although my daughter is immune to cold water, my ability to stay in the water with her is limited. The combination of the vest with the shorts made the cool water bearable and our pastime enjoyable. Heavy duty zipper with adequate neoprene coverage to avoid skin irritation. By size: I bought a medium sized vest. The vest fitted perfectly on the chest but dangled a little at the waist. I'm 5'4", waist 30", chest 38". I think this would be perfect for someone with a 32-33" waist. To improve the fit and insulating properties of the vest, I had to put it on trimming the waist 1 inch on each side - this made them tight and kept me warm.
