These boxes definitely work as advertised and look great once installed. I installed two of these on a covered patio for my relatives. I like that they have a low profile unlike most GFCI weatherproof cases - this should prevent them from being hit by knuckles or furniture. It should be noted that they will not work unless you are 3-1/2 inches deep (2x4 design) as they require full depth to install. easy. I couldn't manually pry the tabs holding the lid in place, and even using a screwdriver I was afraid of breaking the tabs or damaging the finish. With the existing cover it was certainly more difficult to install the GFCI device, which is already more difficult due to the internal depth of the box. In my case I already routed the cables through the new siding at the box locations. I found the rivets and used the siding adapter (which is separate) as a template to mark the position of the box on my siding, then used the multi-tool to carefully cut through the siding, then the house wrap, then the wrap. I made my electrical connections and installed the equipment *before* mounting the boxes to the wall - that made it a lot easier, especially considering the depth of the box and the issue of the lids. The blocks include Duplex and Decora style overlays as well as a piece of beige putty to use under the fairing adapter before screwing in (I didn't use it as I prefer outside sealing but it was nice to have it included). . Also includes two sets of screws, one set is painted white which I used. Ultimately I love the product. Mine doesn't get painted, but the white trim looks nice. I like this better than the traditional method of installing a GFCI box on the siding, which includes a rectangular panel (usually to match your siding and with a wide gap where it connects to the siding), a weatherproof electrical box, and a weather shield includes. - an impervious cover, *and* they protrude 3-4 inches from the wall. The all-in-one design is good and fits the siding much better. I would buy this product again.
