It was perfect for my 82 year old father who lives with me. Before I had this speaker, which now sits on a stand next to their chair, nobody could enjoy TV. What was loud enough for him became too loud for others. And even at high volume, he heard the sound but didn't understand the words well. This speaker solved everything. It shouldn't be that loud, and the clarity is great! Now let's leave the TV volume at 0 (to eliminate the echo) and listen through this speaker. It's also great that he can go to the kitchen and continue listening to TV (news, races, etc) while he eats, reads mail, etc. I wish I found this a few months ago.
